Revisiting the topic. We all love simple solutions don’t we? Just look at the news.

I’m neither a fan nor a detractor of working from home, I can see both sides; some people just love the face to face communication and it’s been shown that the office environment fosters innovation and creativity.

With that said, I can think of many better things to do than commute to an office and then get there and have interminable meetings just to put bums in expensive seats downtown.

This NYT article adds a different spin just t complicate matters further (sorry).

High profile examples like Marc Benioff, the CEO of Salesforce and Brian Niccol the new CEO of Starbucks both continue to work from home, presumably while drafting the return to office mandates that both companies gave.

But if you drill down, the article gives data on higher in office performance as well as the lines that are getting drawn around what salary levels get to work from home, people with disabilities etc etc.

In short, it seems to be turning into yet another socio economic indicator.

But is it a cause or an outcome? And here I go offering two simple options on what it is.

The answer is probably yes…………………and no…………..
